About Us ...

The Red Lion at Longden Common was originally first granted a full seven day license in 1826 and it was still brewing its own beer in 1891. The Red Lion consisted of a kitchen, parlour, 6 bedrooms, one clubroom, bar, brewhouse, cellar and stabling for seven horses. It was built to serve the needs of the mining community, agriculture and roadside trade.

Disabled access

Due to the age of the building, disabled access is difficult in the pub itself, however the gardens are easily accessible by wheelchair.

Children are always welcome, although the pub is not very suitable for toddlers and babies as we do not have a changing facility.

Dogs are allowed inside the bar area of the pub and dogs on leads are very welcome in the gardens.
